my diet
I am a carnivore. I feed on plankton, larger fish, marine mammals, crustaceans, squid and some more fish. Inside the water, I am the apex predator. But don’t worry, I will not harm you.

Our clan are present across the world in all seas. We live in depths of 2,000 metres but absent below 3,000 metres. However, the bull shark and the river shark can be found in both seawater and freshwater.

You’ve heard of birds preying on fish, but have you heard of fish preying on birds? That’s me. I am the Giant Trevally and I am on top of the food chain. My specialised vision gives me a panoramic view of my surroundings, allowing me to easily detect my prey. And that’s how I feasts on birds that float on top of the water.
my diet
I hunt both individually and in schools. Fish is my staple diet, but crunchy snacks like crustaceans also make up a considerable part of my diet.
where I'm from
The Giant Trevally is present throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. From South Africa to Hawaii, including Japan in the north and Australia in the south. They can be found in estuaries, shallow bays and lagoons as a juvenile to deeper reefs, offshore atolls and large embayments as an adult.
